contact memory buttons
A contact memory button is an electronic storage device that physically attaches to equipment assets, allowing electronic data to be recorded. Contact memory buttons create portable, readily accessible, micro-databases capable of holding complete equipment lifetime data.
Completely passive, the lack of RF emissions and contact to communicate interface assures an inherent level of security and guarantees correct identification.
Oxley e-tag contact memory buttons or data tags, are miniature, rugged, coin-shaped devices packed with up to 64K bytes of non-volatile EEPROM memory. Completely passive, requiring no battery, they can retain their data for 100 years between uses. Data can be read-from and written-to an e-tag[,] virtually[,] an unlimited number of times.
e-tag is also available as a zero-memory ID Only device. In the same rugged package the ID Only device is a lower-cost device where on-asset data storage is not required. This is specifically designed to offer a single technology, cost effective, combined memory and ID only asset tagging solution.
Each of our e-tag devices contains a microprocessor. Microprocessors can be configured with on-chip passwords for applications requiring read/write security.
Combined with traditional metal ID labels a microprocessor conveniently stores visual and electronic information. |
