Q:
Can I use Infra-red with my normal color camera?
A: No unless you have a "day/night" color camera capable
of "seeing" Infra-red". Nearly all color cameras
have a special correction filter which removes IR to enable the
CCD sensor to give accurate color pictures.

Q:
How far can a CCTV camera see at night with IR lighting?
A: The answer to this question has to be qualified with so many
factors that there is no easy answer - please see our application
notes for further information which may help. You can also contact
our technical sales team to discuss your requirements.

Q:
Do I need an additional housing for the IR lamp?
A: No. The IL500 is a completely sealed unit rated to IP66 which effectively
means it is able to withstand the harshest of environment. Unlike
some other systems the IL 500 uses novel design to minimize the buildup
of heat and therefor does not need any ventilation. |
