  Survivolite Emergency Lighting Systems
Traditionally high-mounted emergency lighting has been provided to cater for failure of normal lighting systems. Survivolite is specifically designed to aid escape from dense smoke and will also function underwater to at least 30 metres.
  Way Guidance Lighting

Survivolite penetrates the most adverse conditions of turbid water and dense smoke. LED's provide the only technological solution that meets all the requirements to provide visual guidance to an escape hatch from any location inside the fuselage of a crashed or ditched aircraft. The high intensity beamed point-source minimizes absorption and scatter, maximizing optical penetration.

Escape Hatch Lighting

Water rushing into an aircraft cabin carries escaping hydraulic fluid, oil, fuel, and the accumulated grime of years of service. This adds to the attenuation through sea water alone and may appear very black and optically dense.

Refraction of light and the myopic effects on the human eye, caused by the water pressure, places serious constraints on the design of emergency lighting systems, which only high brightness LED's will satisfy.

Oxley Survivolite modules are designed to replace existing 'Beta' lights, which are totally ineffective in these conditions.

Marine Escape Lighting

Traditionally high-mounted escape lighting only serves to illuminate a limited area. Directional information is very limited.

Survivolite is typically configured to provide a discontinuous line of light providing way guidance to exits. The guidance lighting can be supplemented by high brightness LED versions of the conventional 'running man' symbols above exit doors.

Horizontal low-level illumination of steps and other changes of level are ideal. In open areas and long corridors, Survivolite arrow symbols will indicate the direction to emergency exits.
