Foxhound
Manufactured especially for the British Army in Afghanistan, the Foxhound is a lightweight armoured vehicle that is resistant to landmines, roadside bombs and IEDs. It offers unparalleled protection against explosions, and is especially effective in hot and dusty conditions, given that initial tests for the vehicle were made in Helmand. This exceptionally versatile vehicle is an integral part of British Army operations.
Main Features
V-Shaped Hull - the Foxhound is ideal for protecting troops on the ground, and its V-shaped hull is key to deflecting any blasts. All critical elements such as the engine and fuel tank are housed within the V-shape to ensure the vehicle can still function after a direct explosion
Quick and Agile – able to travel up to 70 mph in hot and dusty conditions, the Foxhound makes for the perfect patrol vehicle
Modular design – the design of the Foxhound is such that if a part is damaged (such as the wheel), it can be easily removed and replaced.
Intelligent Internal Lighting
To ensure the Foxhound can be used any time of the day or night, the vehicle is equipped with specialist Oxley lighting solutions, including the DC Combi Light. By utilising LED technology, this saves on a great deal of space inside the vehicle, and the design of the unit means that it is resistant to shock and vibration in the field.
The light is night vision friendly and can operate in blackout mode, enabling use in tactical operations. The secondary colour can also be changed at any time by reprogramming the microprocessor present in each light. With over 50,000 hours of usage and no replacement bulbs needed, the DC Combi Light is the perfect enhancement to this particular military vehicle.
