Ship Lighting

Oxley produces a range of naval lighting for use on large ships, fast patrol boats and hovercraft. The range comprises of a full suite of navigation lights, flight deck landing lights, visual landing aids, and compartment lighting; from high risk areas to passageway lighting. Control room and bridge lighting solutions such as task lighting and high specification LED panel lamps are also available.

Oxley has significant experience in LED lighting for ships, the latest advancement is a range of LED Navigation lights, specifically designed for vessels over 50 metres and in use on the Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers for the UK Navy. The suite contains a full set of wheel marked, robust and low maintenance lights with options available in both AC and DC variants. The lights are NVG friendly and are therefore suitable for use with aircraft flying on military night vision goggles. The range provides high reliability for demanding marine environments with high sealing and meets the most stringent EMC standards.

Operations at sea often demand multiple platform inter-operability and ship lighting has to be NVG compatible with aircraft flying on night vision goggles. To achieve this, Oxley can assess the individual requirements of the flight deck and bridge and provide bespoke lighting solutions to ensure there is no deterioration to the NVG image for the pilot.
