Many Oxley EMI filters use a standard Electro Tin Flow Brightened plating finish, a legacy plating specification that has fallen out of favour due to the inherent difficulties of reflowing and quenching tin under hot oil.

Oxley is single sourced for this process and now our supplier, after a site move, has engaged with us over the future of this process with a view to them withdrawing this offering imminently.

To ensure continuity of supply of our EMI filters we intend to transition from the flow brightened tin to silver, our alternate standard finish. The silver finish is a long established offering, available from our supply chain and from our internal plating facility, and is our standard finish for RoHS compliant filters.

In order to minimise interruptions to the supply of parts we will implement this change as soon as is practical with the expectation that from the end of February 2025, after current stock and WIP are exhausted, all relevant parts will be released with a silver finish.

EMI filter ranges affected, hermetic only:

DCT/-

DXT/-

DLT/-

DYT/-

DPT/-

0141/-

DTT/-

As with current coding, parts with a silver finish will have an 'S' suffix in the part numbering.

Our priority remains providing our customers with the excellent level of support they expect from Oxley.
